Great landmark place for homemade cooking!! All our friends and family go to Barbie's Place for diner-style breakfast and lunch. Trust the locals for great food at affordable prices!!

Let me first start by saying the food was good. I got the eggs Benedict which were made just right and home fries. My husband got 3 pancakes, bacon and scrambled eggs. Both of us were satisfied.
However the place needs updating big time. The decor is so old it made me feel like the place wasn't really clean. Also the booths had holes in the upholstery. They use random coffee mugs. Mine was an advertisement for adult daycare. I kind of don't like it when restaurants do that.
The staff was very friendly though and we were glad they open at 5am because we are super early birds. -

Seems like a local spot for the hard working folk. Went on Saturday morning where we had to wait for a table to free up. The place seems like it's been around for years. Ally of regulars were there chatting up the staff. I found it interesting that they had fish on the white board. I guess it was more for lunch but I'm sure I saw a few people order it.
Once we sat down a woman got us coffee, asked for our order right away but we weren't ready since we've never been here before. She left and never came back, after some time another woman took our order. The food took a very long time to even appear. However there was a sign saying, "cook wanted" in the front. So I'll just assume they were short staffed.
Ordered biscuits and gravy and thought it was ok but wouldn't order them again. Eggs and bacon we're good though. Coffee was nice and hot and they kept coming around to refill it.
Went to the bathroom before I left and I was so fascinated to see an ashtray built into the toilet paper holder. Dang, this place must be old as dirt and has never been updated. It was soooo cool to see. -

Roaches ! I went about 2 weeks ago and saw a baby roach crawling around on the wall next to us. The place was busy and it was late morning so the fact that it was there just living it's best life was enough to let me know this place must be infested. Florida restaurants should not be cutting corners with pest control.

Really homey feel, fantastic pricing and reeeally good food! We got 2 of the full eggs Benedict as well as pancakes and coffee, for less than $25 which is unheard of. Will definitely be back, as the food was delicious and the people are very friendly. My only complaint would be that we only saw our waitress when she took our order, and then when she brought our food. It was our first time there and we were not sure where to get a box for our food, so it would've been nice if she came back. But that's not a big deal, everything was really good!
